Get to know Harriet
Harriet
- Mare
- DOB: 1989
- Retired @ RHH: 2004
Harriet was used to make the human female hormone replacement Premarin and is known as a PMU (Pregnant Mare Urine) horse.
Thankfully, Harriet no longer has to stand months at a time in a stall while pregnant and have her urine collected as she is now free to roam and run in her pasture here at RHH. Harriet is considered “wild” as she has had little or no human imprinting (positive human interaction.)
