Mischief was rescued from High Springs, FL; she was found nursing on her mother whom had died from starvation.
Both Mischief and her mother were brought together to RHH; her mother is buried here. Mischief was foundered* when she arrived.
Mischief’s beginning of life is tragic and heartbreaking but one can take comfort in the fact that she has only known love and kindness since arriving at RHH. Everyone that knows Miss Mischief adores her and she is admired for her determination and true grit.
She can often be seen with her best friend, Rusty. Side-by-side they eat their dinner together (sometimes sharing a bucket!) and on very hot days, Mischief wanders around with Rusty basking in the giant shade he provides her.
Mischief is resourceful…highly esteemed… sweeter than sweet… dearly loved.
*Foundered: Laminitis is a disease that affects the feet of hooved animals and is found mostly in horses and cattle. Clinical signs include foot tenderness progressing to inability to walk. Severe cases with outwardly visible clinical signs are known by founder. Causes for laminitis are multiple…carbohydrate overload, colic, lush pastures, frosted grass, untreated infections, and insulin resistance are just a few causes. Source: Wikipedia
