Laura was rescued when she was found on the side of a road in S.W. Miami; she had a large sore on her right rear leg and could not walk.
There is an ancient Yiddish Proverb that states: “The eyes are the mirror of the soul.” Knowing Laura’s history, one can look into her eyes and see the fear, confusion and pain she has known.
Perhaps that’s why when she arrived @ RHH 3 years ago she was insecure, aggressive and unwilling to make friends with other horses.
But, as time passed and Laura became less afraid, she befriended Savannah and the two of them are now the best of friends and refuse to be separated, even when they are being groomed.
Time, friendship, kindness, attention and caring have helped Laura, but it is love that has allowed her to heal.
